Profile: St. Matthew, Chicago, Soup Kitchen

El Comedor Popular, the weekly soup kitchen of St. Matthew Lutheran Church reaches out to the unemployed and the homeless in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood. Nutritious lunches are offered to 150 to 200 people every Tuesday and Thursday. Along with the meal, Pastor Julio Loza shares Scripture, prayers, and God's comfort, and the volunteers share their compassion and concern.
